Cranberry Valley Golf Course | Harwich, Massachusetts

Cranberry Valley Golf Course in Harwich, Massachusetts, hired RMGA to design a short course between the 14th, 17th and 18th holes to give golfers of all ages an alternative to the existing 18-hole regulation course. Through design efforts to minimize vernal pools, impacts the tees for the 18th hole will be moved north to provide more room for the short course. RMGA is also creating a 30,000 square-foot Himalayas putting green just beyond the clubhouse doors

Braemar Golf Course | Edina, Minnesota

2019 - ASGCA Design Excellence Award

 

The City of Edina, Minnesota, looked to Richard Mandell Golf Architecture to decrease flooding issues, environmental impact and maintenance costs at their 27-hole course through our Renovation Business Plan process.  The result was a new eighteen hole course design that achieved these goals while restoring the inherent Oak Savannah-dominated character of the site.  Wide fairways, cross-hazards, and green contours that force golfers to make decisions and challenge them from both ends of the spectrum.  The new Braemar Golf Course has already been honored with a Design Excellence Award by the American Society of Golf Course Architects.

Skydoor Golf Course | Zhangjiajie, China

 

Skydoor Golf Course serves as an anchor for the development of the Zhangjiajie Province, China.  Built at the base of Tianmen Mountain, Richard Mandell Golf Architecture provided a unique design that highlighted the hilly terrain and culture but more importantly challenges golfers with strategic choices based on the site-specific topography.

Hailing Island Yangjiang | Guandong, China

Hailing Island Yangjiang was a golf and residential development project in Guandong, China.  The original Richard Mandell Golf Architecture design focused on two distinct nines - mountain and beach - that emphasize the unique topography in an unbelievable setting.

Pine Forest Golf Club | Pinehurst, North Carolina

Pine Forest Golf Club in Pinehurst. North Carolina, was a golf and real estate development design.  Richard Mandell Golf Architecture designed the course to feature the old quarry located on the property while also maximizing property values.

Blue Heron Golf Course | Stevensville, Maryland

2006 - Top Ten Short Courses In America

Blue Heron Golf Course in Stevensville, Maryland, is an eighteen hole short course routed around an inlet and wetland known as Prince Creek.  Richard Mandell Golf Architecture’s goal was to replicate natural landforms that tied into the ground through long ridges and subtle mesas.  The course also features a unique triple green for the 10th, 12th, and 14th holes.

Creekside Golf & Country Club in Hiram, Georgia, winds through both beautiful wetlands and uplands as well.  A 2000 Golf Digest Best New Course Nominee, the course is designed with a minimalist approach, highlighting the natural features and allowing the land to dictate strategic decisions.

Seaford Golf and Country Club | Seaford, Delaware

1996 - DuPont North America Safety, Health, and Environment Excellence Award

Seaford Golf & Country Club in Seaford, Delaware, was originally a nine hole Alfred Tull design.  The club and the DuPont Corporation, through a joint venture, hired Richard Mandell Golf Architecture to create a nine hole addition to their existing nine hole course.  The result is a cohesive eighteen hole course that serves as the primary social center for workers at the adjacent DuPont factory.

Easton Club Golf Course | Easton, Maryland

The Easton Club in Easton, Maryland, was one of the first golf course residential developments to be completed within Maryland’s sensitive ecosystem, the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area.  Situated on 283 acres, The Easton Club boasts an eighteen hole golf course surrounded by 342 detached and attached single-family home sites. The golf course was routed through tidal wetlands and a twenty-acre non-tidal basin that are enjoyed by golfers and residents alike.

The Stagecoach Practice Club | Chapel Hill, North Carolina

 

The Stagecoach Practice Club is a private, state-of-the-art practice facility and short course.  Designed with variety in mind, there are an infinite amount of ways to play the layout.  It is a true, off-the-radar golfers paradise.
