Dr. Gene Atkinson, long-time member of Orangeburg Country Club, recently sent Richard Mandell Golf Architecture a jump drive of photographs from our award - winning restoration work in 2009. Since then, the club has become one of the classic venues for members and tournament players throughout the southeast, still recognized on a regional and national level today:

2015: South Carolina Raters Panel Most Improved Course since 2005 – State

2015: SCRP Most Improved Course since 2005 - Midlands Region

2016: #1 Best Private Club Value (SCRP)

2018: Most Challenging Closing Hole in the Midlands (SCRP)

2019: #2 Top Course You Can Play in South Carolina (SCRP – Bob Gillespie)

2019: Golfweek’s Ultimate Guide: Top 200 Residential Golf Courses (#178)

2020: Ranked #43 in State by SCRP (unranked before renovation)

2020: Ranked #9 in top Classic Courses of South Carolina (SCRP)

Here is a video chronicling the history of Orangeburg Country Club from its beginnings almost one-hundred years ago to our restoration work. We thank Dr, Atkinson for providing this story as well as his continued support.
